Re The Gothic: Tomorrow (Wednesday) we will be focusing on the source or the inspiration for Gothic literature during the Romantic period and the actual characteristics of Romantic Gothic works. For next Monday, we will focus on criticism of the genre and modern parallels (those who wish to do away with graphic horror films such as the Saw series, Halloween [I'm dating myself], etc. Keep thinking about connections between what was happening at the time (all of the uncertainty and bloodshed of revolution AND the resulting censorship) and what was coming through in the Gothic literature.
